Richard has been a ‘Handelsbanker’ since 2011, serving the bank both in London and Sweden. With a background in corporate communications, he was initially drafted in to help develop Handelsbanken’s brand and business across the United Kingdom, which saw the bank more than double its footprint to over 200 branches by 2016.
At that point, Richard transferred to the Group’s head office in Stockholm, to support the President and Group CEO’s focus on bringing the bank’s values-led model to a wider range of international stakeholders.

Today as head of external affairs, Richard is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s relationships with policymakers and other influential stakeholders are rooted in an understanding of Handelsbanken’s unique way of thinking and working.
